The United Nations Association of Greater Boston's Summer Institute in Global Leadership orchestrates a comprehensive week-long Model UN program, welcoming students from various locations to collaboratively confront global issues. Throughout this intensive week, participants delve into the week's theme, exploring key topics intertwined with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The program offers a multifaceted approach. Students engage in public speaking exercises and negotiation activities, refining their abilities to articulate and negotiate on pressing global concerns. Moreover, they have the unique opportunity to interact with expert guest speakers, gaining insights and perspectives from seasoned individuals in the field. The core essence lies in hands-on experience; students navigate complex global issues collaboratively, simulating the roles of diplomats within Model UN simulations. This immersive approach allows for practical application of knowledge and skills, fostering a deeper understanding of diplomacy, negotiation, and the intricate mechanisms involved in addressing global challenges. The week serves as a platform for students to not only absorb information but to actively participate, absorb, and apply their learning, emerging with a more profound comprehension of global dynamics and the role of collaborative problem-solving in a diplomatic context.
